Fleet Recall OsmoPrep Lawsuit Information

Helping people who have suffered Fleet phospho soda kidney damage side effects after taking products including Fleet phospho-soda, Visicol and OsmoPrep and representing individuals who have developed acute phosphate nephropathy in filing a Fleet or OsmoPrep lawsuit.

In December 2008, following increasing reports of kidney damage sometimes leading to kidney failure, a Fleet Phospho recall was announced by the manufacturer of the Fleet Phospho-soda and Fleet Phospho-soda EZ-Prep Bowel Cleansing System. The FDA issued a health alert warning stating that the Fleet Phospho soda bowel cleansing products could increase the risk of kidney damage sometimes including dialysis treatment, kidney transplant or death. They said that the Fleets enema should only be available by prescription rather than over-the-counter.

Following the FDA kidney injury warning, C.B. Fleet Company issued a Fleet soda recall in December 2008. The Fleet enemas had been marketed to patients to use as bowel prep before procedures including colonoscopy. Fleet enema kidney problems can occur as soon one or two days after using the product to a few weeks.

According to the FDA warning you are at increased risk of developing acute phosphate nephropathy with the use of OSP bowel cleansing products if you:

• are 55 years or older,
• are dehydrated,
• have a history of kidney problems,
• have delayed bowel emptying,
• have active colitis, or
• take certain medications that affect kidney function, such as diuretic (fluid) pills, angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors (medications that lower blood pressure), angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs, used to treat high blood pressure, heart or kidney failure), and possibly nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS, like ibuprofen or other arthritis medications).

If you or a loved one suffered from kidney failure after using Fleet phospho soda enema, Visicol or OsmoPrep OSP products you may have important legal rights. There is a limited time to file a claim for kidney damage side effects or wrongful death. We provide nationwide representation and can help you determine if you are eligible to file a claim.
